our story
YWAM Cook Islands began with humble beginnings with just a few individuals and families who had a calling to this nation. Through the seeds that they had planted, YWAM Cook Islands is now reaping what has been sown. At present we have a base on a property overlooking the sea and with the mountains as the backdrop. Many had invested their time and effort to make this base a possibility.
Back in the 80's when it all began for YWAM in the Cook Islands, there wasn't a base and we were running DTS from homes and churches. Later when Eddie and Martha Ene came into the picture in 2001, YWAM was running it's operations from a building belonging to the local Catholic Church, this was the 1st facility that YWAM Cook Islands had for a few of years, until Eddie had a vision to build a base on the island. A local benefactor had leased a land to YWAM and the long arduous process of clearing the land and building began in 2004

Through the labour of many volunteers, staff and students the buildings began to take shape, slowly the base began to emerge from what was a former marsh land. Finally the base was completed in 2008 and stands as it is today.
